Filming Day 3

For the third and final day of filming i was unable to be there while they were filming because I had to attend a funeral. Despite this, I went through with Rebecka (the director of photography) what i wanted. I told her i wanted full performances of Kyra dancing. and Rebecka brought in a spinning glass plate thing so we we could put items on top of it and spin it and i wanted things like lipstick, alcohol bottles, sunglasses and girly heels on there.

I was really happy with what they shot, it looked very good and was one of my favourite things to edit in to my music video.

Kyra looking into a mirror pampering herself.
The camera would then be the point of view from the camera
Kyra dancing. We used the blue lighting effect.
The high heels  we used were very girly and dramatic.
Kyra also danced with an alcohol bottle to make her seem more like the wild child she really is.

Filming Day 2 (Balloons)

The second time we filmed i wanted Kyra to be in front of a white backdrop dancing between ballons (both helium and non-helium) and at the end she would go a bit mad and start popping them and stuff. I also wanted close-up shots of her with nice makeup and then rubbing it across her face like she was going crazy.

Rebecka (D.O.P) filing up some of the balloons with helium.

What Kyra's makeup looked like. I wanted black eyes and red lips.

Myself (left, director), Kyra and Joe (Producer) put the helium balloons under this little shelter so they wouldn't float to the ceiling, we then cut string and attached it to the balloons. To keep the balloons down while filming we attached some to Kyra's wrist and stuck the rest to the floor using duct tape.

What Kyra looked like amongst them. While filming i wanted the non-helium balloons to be flying around Kyra so Joe, Matthew(runner) and I would pick up the balloons that were out of shot and throw them around.
Kyra then lied in the middle of the balloons during her performance. This gave us more possible footage to use in our final cuts.

This was Kyra while rubbing her makeup off. I liked these shots very much because i thought she looked demented and evil.

Filming Day 1 (Green Screen)

Filming (Green Screen, Day 1)

This video is an outtake just to show what she looks like on camera.

Filming on the first day was good. The first part we filmed was Kyra lip syncing to the song and dancing with/without the guitar. Kyra took good direction and really went for it which was fantastic.

The next thing we filmed on this day was the "surgery scene" where kyra would be lying on a table wearing a cap and having lines drawn on her facer like she was about to undergo surgery. This scene would be incorporated into the music video when Lily sings "but it doesn't matter 'cause i'm packin' plastic, and that's what makes my life so f**king fantastic"

This was the image that we based kyras surgery lines on.

This is also an outtake but it just shows what her face looks like.

Setting up

Today we started filming. We were using green screen for the scene because i wanted Lily (Kyra Morris) to be seen in front of like dollar bills or something like that. We did initially have the idea of having two background dancers who would have their heads green screened out so they would look like just bodies. Unfortunately, the two who were supposed to be the dancers pulled out last minute so we were left with just Kyra being part of the cast. The location we were filming was "The Big Room", we took pictures of the room being set up

Big room

A good portion of the music video will be shot in "The big room" using techniques like green screen for performances and many different shots like birds eye shot for a scene in which "Lily Allen" will be undertaking surgery, close-ups and extreme close-ups.

Camera effects

We were discussing camera effects we could possibly use in our music video and tried to see if we could do a kind of effect where it looks like the main focus of the camera would be zooming in and the background would be zooming out. Kind of like the effect you see when someone feels dazed. We found that that we couldn't get the type of effect we wanted.
